Day 1: Arrival in Darjeeling
Upon arrival at Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station, our representative will welcome you and assist with your transfer to Darjeeling. The scenic drive covers approximately 95 kilometers and takes around 3 hours. Darjeeling, known as the former summer capital of India, is famous for its stunning natural beauty and the warm hospitality of its Himalayan residents. Surrounded by lush tea gardens, the town offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan peaks. After arriving in Darjeeling, check in to your hotel and take some time to relax. Later, explore the town on foot, soaking in its unique culture and charm. Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Darjeeling Sightseeing
Start your day with breakfast at the hotel, then set off on a sightseeing tour of Darjeeling’s top attractions. Begin with a visit to Ghoom Monastery, followed by the Batasia Loop War Memorial, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the mountains. Explore the Padmaja Naidu Zoological Garden (closed on Thursdays) and the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursdays) to learn about the region’s wildlife and mountaineering history. Visit the Tibetan Refugee Self-help Center (closed on Sundays) to discover traditional Tibetan crafts.
Next, see the famous Tenzing & Gombu Rock, and drive past the lush Tea Estates and the serene Japanese Peace Pagoda. In the evening, enjoy a leisurely stroll around the Mall and Local Market (closed on Thursdays), where you’ll have free time for shopping and exploring on your own.
Note: Visiting Tiger Hill for the sunrise is subject to permit availability, which will be confirmed the evening before. Spend the night at your hotel, resting up for more adventures ahead.
Day 3: Transfer to Gangtok
In the morning, depart for Gangtok, the beautiful capital of Sikkim, located at an altitude of 5,500 feet. The drive covers about 105 kilometers and takes around 4 hours, offering scenic views along the way. Gangtok is known for its serene monasteries, lush green hills, and stunning landscapes. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and relax. Spend the evening at your leisure, exploring the local area or enjoying some personal time. Overnight stay at the hotel in Gangtok.
Day 4: Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir
Start your day with a thrilling excursion to Tsomgo Lake, situated at an altitude of 12,400 feet and about 32 kilometers from Gangtok. This sacred lake is revered by locals and is surrounded by stunning natural beauty. Continue your journey to the Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, dedicated to the memory of soldier Harbhajan Singh, known as the “Hero of Nathula.”
In the evening, return to Gangtok and spend your time exploring the town, shopping, or enjoying other personal activities.
Note for Foreign Passport Holders: Instead of visiting Tsomgo Lake, you will enjoy local sightseeing in Gangtok, covering attractions like Chortan, the Institute of Tibetology, Flower Show, Tashi Viewpoint, Ganesh Tak, Hanuman Tak, Bhakthang Falls, and Gojang Monastery. Overnight stay at the hotel in Gangtok.
Day 5: Departure from Gangtok
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station, which is approximately 114 kilometers away. Enjoy the scenic drive as you bid farewell to the beautiful landscapes of Sikkim. Upon arrival, continue with your onward journey. This marks the end of your memorable Darjeeling & Gangtok tour.
